Writing
Click into the text and write. Formatting is done with buttons, as in Word, and there is nothing to save.
Write
In a draft, click into the text and write. You need nothing else — no “Edit” button, no “Save”.
While you write, watch two things on the right of the bar:
- Saved — the text is safe the moment you type it. Others see it once it is published.
- Your edits — your own fresh typing is not coloured, so that it does not get in your way. To see it like any other change, click Show as revisions beside it.
The bar of buttons
From left to right:
| In the app | What it means |
|---|---|
| ↶ ↷ | Undo and redo. |
| B *I* S U | Bold, italic, strikethrough and underline. Select the text first, then click. |
| Paragraph style | The list that reads “Normal text” or “Heading 1”. Turns a line into a heading — or back into normal text. |
| Quote | A set-off paragraph: a quote, a tip, important, a warning. |
| Lists | Bullets, numbers, letters and checkboxes. |
| Insert a symbol | Characters that are not on the keyboard. |
| Insert a diagram | A procedure, a timeline, a mind map and more — see Diagrams and tables. |
| Insert (+) | A picture, a table, a table of contents, a page break, a link. |
| Highlight | The yellow highlighter. |
| Add a note to the selection | A note on the selected text — see Notes. |
| AI | Asks the agent to improve, shorten or translate the selected text. |
On a narrower screen some of the buttons fold under More formatting.
A picture, a table, a link
- Click in the text where the thing should go.
- Click + (Insert) in the bar.
- Choose: Image… from your computer, Table (you pick rows and columns), Table of contents, Page break or Link.
A new document and a folder
- In the Documents panel, click + (Create) at the top, or New file at the bottom.
- Choose what it will be: Document, Spreadsheet, Process diagram, Mermaid diagram or Plain text.
- Type a name and click Create.
Right-click a document or a folder in the panel for more actions: Rename, Move to…, Delete. The three dots that appear on a row when you point at it open the same menu.
Zen mode
The Zen mode switch in the top right corner hides the bars and the panels and leaves the page. The formatting buttons then appear over the text you select. A second click brings everything back.
